Responsibility
- Patrol assigned areas to deter crime and ensure public safety
- Respond to calls for service; assess incidents and provide appropriate actions
- Conduct traffic enforcement and enforce laws and regulations
- Investigate incidents, collect evidence, interview witnesses, and prepare reports
- Engage with diverse communities through outreach and problem-solving partnerships
- Coordinate with detectives, prosecutors, and other agencies to advance investigations
- Maintain equipment, vehicle readiness, and physical fitness standards
- Document all actions clearly and testify in court when required
Qualification
- Minimum age 21; U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred
- Current Police Officer certification or completion of an accredited academy; or willingness to enroll within six months of hire
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to pass physical fitness tests, medical exam, background check, drug screening, and polygraph
- Reside within reasonable proximity to Seattle or be willing to relocate within a specified timeframe
