Responsibility
- Patrol assigned beats and respond to calls for service with professional judgment and situational awareness.
- Enforce laws, issue citations when appropriate, and protect life and property.
- Conduct preliminary investigations, collect statements, and preserve evidence.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain documentation in line with department standards.
- Participate in community outreach programs to build trust and reduce crime.
- Respond to critical incidents, coordinate with other agencies, and manage incident scenes.
- Utilize technology and data analytics to identify trends and allocate resources effectively.
Qualification
- High school diploma or GED; college coursework in criminal justice is a plus.
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident capable of obtaining security clearances as required.
- Minimum age 21 at time of appointment; valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
- Successfully complete physical fitness assessment and medical examination.
- Completion of police academy training or equivalent law enforcement experience.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills; ability to work under stress and in diverse communities.
- Successful background check, polygraph, and drug screening; no Felony convictions.
