Responsibility
- Patrol assigned beats and respond to incidents to deter crime and maintain public safety.
- Respond to emergency calls, render aid, and coordinate with emergency services as needed.
- Investigate incidents, collect evidence, interview witnesses, and draft detailed reports.
- Enforce traffic laws, conduct traffic stops safely, and promote road safety.
- Engage with community members, organizations, and schools to build trust and address concerns.
- Collaborate with detectives, supervisors, and external agencies on investigations and task forces.
- Prepare for court by organizing case files and providing testimony.
Qualification
- Minimum age 21; U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States.
- High school diploma or GED; a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field is preferred.
- Completion of a POST-certified training academy or ability to obtain certification.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to obtain and maintain firearm qualifications.
- Strong physical fitness; able to pass agility tests and meet vision/hearing standards.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and de-escalation skills; capacity to work in a diverse community.
- Background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation; oath of integrity and ethics.
