Responsibility
- Perform regular patrols to deter crime and ensure public safety in assigned areas.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, accidents, and requests for police assistance.
- Investigate incidents, collect evidence, interview witnesses, and prepare clear, factual reports.
- Issue citations, make arrests when necessary, and ensure proper documentation for court proceedings.
- Coordinate with other agencies and community stakeholders to identify safety concerns and implement solutions.
- Engage with community members to build trust, provide information, and resolve conflicts through nonviolent means.
- Maintain vehicle, equipment, and uniform standards; comply with department policies and training requirements.
Qualification
- U.S. citizenship or eligible for permanent residence; valid driver's license.
- Minimum age 21; high school diploma or GED; associates or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Pass comprehensive background investigation, including drug screening and credit check as applicable.
- Physical fitness to meet essential job demands; ability to pass fitness and agility tests.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills; ability to work rotating shifts.
- Complete a rigorous police academy training program and field training experience.
- Ability to work effectively in diverse communities; demonstrated integrity and ethical conduct.
