As a sworn officer, you will patrol assigned beats, respond to emergencies, enforce laws, conduct investigations, document incidents accurately, and collaborate with community partners to reduce crime and enhance public safety in one of America's most dynamic cities.
Responsibility
- Patrol assigned beats to deter crime and ensure public safety
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and call-for-service with professional conduct
- Enforce laws, issue citations, and make arrests when appropriate
- Conduct preliminary investigations, collect evidence, and document findings
- Prepare clear, accurate incident and arrest reports
- Engage with community members to build trust and address concerns
- Participate in ongoing training, drills, and fitness requirements
- Testify in court and coordinate with detectives on investigations
Qualification
- U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the United States
- Minimum age 21 at time of academy graduation
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record
- Physically fit and able to pass medical and fitness standards
- Strong ethics, integrity, and communication skills
- Ability to pass written examination, background check, and polygraph as required
