As a Police Officer, you will perform patrol duties, respond to emergencies, conduct preliminary investigations, enforce traffic laws, and collaborate with community partners to enhance public safety.
Responsibility
- Patrol assigned beats to deter crime and ensure public safety.
- Respond to emergency calls and incidents with urgency and professionalism.
- Conduct preliminary criminal investigations, gather evidence, and write clear reports.
- Enforce laws and traffic regulations, issue citations, and facilitate proper enforcement procedures.
- Engage with community members to build trust and provide safe, lawful solutions.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including incident reports and daily logs.
- Collaborate with neighboring agencies and participate in joint operations as required.
- Complete required training to maintain certifications and stay current on policies and procedures.
Qualification
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; higher education preferred
- Active law enforcement officer certification or eligibility in Illinois (or corresponding state)
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Excellent physical fitness, endurance, and the ability to meet job-specific demands
- Strong communication, judgment, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Commitment to ethical standards, community-oriented policing, and diversity
- Background check, drug screening, and polygraph as required
