Join a premier printing partner in Portland, a fast-growing facility delivering high-quality packaging and marketing collateral for diverse industries. We seek a skilled Printing Operator to run our presses, ensure color accuracy, and uphold the highest standards of quality and safety.
You will work with a collaborative team, leveraging state-of-the-art equipment to meet daily production goals while maintaining efficiency and waste reduction.
Responsibility
- Set up, adjust and operate offset and digital presses according to job specifications.
- Monitor color accuracy, registration, ink levels, and substrate compatibility.
- Prepare inks, plates, blankets, and substrates; load media and cut sheets as required.
- Perform inline quality checks, adjust color profiles, and document results.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and report equipment issues promptly.
- Collaborate with production planning and finishing teams to meet deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized workspace in compliance with safety policies.
- Assist with troubleshooting and process improvements to reduce waste and downtime.
Qualification
- 2+ years of commercial printing press experience, including offset or digital printing.
- Strong understanding of color management and print standards (GRACoL, SWOP).
- Proficiency with densitometers, spectrophotometers, and handheld measurement tools.
- Ability to read artwork files and job tickets; basic familiarity with RIP software is a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting ability and basic maintenance skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certificate in printing is a plus.
- Commitment to safety and quality assurance standards.
