In this role, you will operate and maintain both offset and digital presses, manage color accuracy, prepare substrates and inks, and collaborate with designers and production staff to deliver top-tier results on time.
Responsibility
- Set up, calibrate, and operate offset and digital presses to produce high-quality printed materials
- Monitor and adjust color during production to ensure accurate color reproduction using spectrophotometers and ICC profiles
- Prepare substrates, inks, plates, and finishing components; perform routine press maintenance and troubleshoot equipment
- Inspect proofs and final runs for defects; document quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Adhere to job tickets, print specs, and production schedules to meet deadlines while minimizing waste
- Collaborate with prepress, finishing, and shipping teams to ensure smooth workflows and on-time delivery
- Uphold safety standards, maintain a clean work environment, and participate in continuous improvement activities
Qualification
- 2+ years of hands-on experience operating printing presses (offset and/or digital) in a commercial setting
- Strong knowledge of color management and ability to interpret color proofs and ICC profiles
- Ability to read job tickets, understand specs, and adjust machines accordingly
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of press equipment
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform routine cleaning and maintenance
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade school certification in printing is a plus
