Drake International is seeking a high‑caliber Production Manager to lead a 24/7 blown film production facility in Johor. This role combines deep technical leadership with strategic operations management within a multinational environment. You will steward the facility’s extrusion lines, including 3/7-layer configurations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient production that consistently meets quality and cost targets.
As the technical operations lead, you will manage a diverse, cross‑functional team and partner with regional and global (AU) leadership to align on global standards, SOPs, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will drive performance by setting clear KPIs, supervising maintenance, optimizing material usage, and advancing process automation where appropriate. Your hands‑on approach to problem solving, equipment uptime, energy efficiency, and waste reduction will support sustainable profitability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibility
- Lead and optimize day‑to‑day operations of the 24/7 blown film plant, ensuring safety, quality, and on‑time production against plan.
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and data‑driven decision making to improve OEE, scrap reduction, and energy efficiency.
- Oversee maintenance planning and reliability of extrusion lines (including 3/7‑layer configurations) to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
- Manage material usage, waste reduction, and process optimization to control costs and maximize yield.
- Develop and mentor a multinational operations team; manage staffing, coaching, performance reviews, and talent development.
- Collaborate with AU leadership and global partners to implement standardized processes, KPIs, and best practices across sites.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory standards; lead incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Prepare and manage budgets, CapEx requests, and operational forecasting to support business objectives.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 8+ years in plastics extrusion and blown film, with hands‑on experience in multi‑layer (3/7‑layer) technologies.
- Proven track record leading 24/7 manufacturing operations in a multinational or cross‑cultural environment.
- Strong knowledge of safety, quality, and environmental systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001); demonstrated incident investigation skills.
- History of delivering continuous improvements, cost reductions, and process optimizations in a high‑volume plant.
- Data‑driven decision maker with experience using ERP/MRP systems and generating actionable reporting for executive stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and intercultural collaboration skills; fluent English; additional languages are a plus.
