Job description
Northgate Precision Industries is seeking a results-driven Production Supervisor to guide daily manufacturing operations in a fast-paced, quality-driven facility in Chicago. You will oversee production scheduling, coordinate cross-functional teams, and champion safety and continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste and boost throughput.
As a key member of the operations leadership team, you’ll translate customer demand into actionable production plans, monitor KPIs, and drive standard work adherence across shift teams. Responsibility
- Plan and supervise daily production activities to meet schedule, quality, and efficiency targets
- Coordinate material availability, equipment readiness, and line staffing across shifts
- Monitor KPIs (OEE, scrap rate, on-time delivery) and implement improvements
- Lead problem-solving sessions (root cause analysis, 5W2H, 8D) for production issues
- Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and GMP guidelines
- Coach and develop frontline supervisors and operators for system-wide performance
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and supply chain to optimize line performance
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or related field
- 5+ years in manufacturing operations, with at least 2 years in supervisory/lead roles
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, TPM, and continuous improvement
- Proven ability to manage safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
- Experience with production planning, scheduling software, and ERP systems (SAP or similar)
- Excellent people leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in data analysis and KPI-driven decision making
