You will oversee manuscript development, coordinate with authors, designers, and marketing, and drive publication calendars that delight readers and drive sales.

Responsibility
- Oversee end-to-end editorial process for multiple titles, from manuscript acquisition to final proofs.
- Edit manuscripts for clarity, tone, consistency, and accuracy; mentor junior editors and freelancers.
- Collaborate with acquisitions, design, production, and marketing teams to plan and execute publication schedules.
- Optimize metadata, summaries, and category placements for discoverability across digital stores.
- Manage QA of proofs across print and digital formats, ensuring brand voice and quality standards.
- Monitor budgets, production timelines, and vendor relationships to meet quarterly goals.
- Maintain and evolve style guides, house rules, and editorial workflows to scale operations.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of editing or publishing experience in trade, literary, or media houses.
- Exceptional copyediting, proofreading, and line-editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Experience with editorial management tools (ASANA, InDesign/InCopy, CMS like WordPress) and metadata/SEO best practices.
- Strong project management and communication skills; ability to manage multiple titles and deadlines.
- Familiarity with production workflows, budgeting, and vendor coordination (designers, printers).
- Portfolio of edited titles or published work demonstrating range and quality.
