Aurora Publishing Group is seeking a results-driven Publishing Editor to lead the editorial lifecycle for our digital and print programs. This role combines high-quality storytelling with rigorous production workflows to deliver compelling content that resonates with readers and drives engagement.
In collaboration with editors, designers, and contributors, you will shape content strategy, supervise copyediting and proofreading, and ensure timely delivery across channels. Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end editorial lifecycle for digital and print publications, including commissioning, editing, fact-checking, and proofreading.
- Develop and enforce editorial standards, style guides, and metadata strategies to optimize discoverability.
- Manage production schedules and cross-functional workflows with design, layout, and marketing teams.
- Collaborate with authors, freelancers, and internal teams to refine content and ensure brand voice.
- Oversee budgets, contracts, and supplier relationships; manage a growing freelance pool.
- Curate content calendars aligned with audience insights, market trends, and strategic goals.
- Edit headlines, blurbs, captions, and SEO-friendly metadata; ensure accessibility and readability.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- 5+ years of editorial experience in publishing, with a track record in digital and print.
- Exceptional editing, copyediting, and fact-checking abilities; portfolio required.
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills; excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency with CMS (WordPress, Drupal) and design tools (Adobe InDesign or equivalents) or similar workflows.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices, metadata optimization, and content strategy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
