BrightLeaf Publishing, a forward-thinking imprint in the publishing industry, is seeking a Publishing Manager to lead editorial operations for our growing portfolio. This role combines hands-on editing with people leadership, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality content on schedule.
You will partner with editors, designers, marketers, and product teams to shape content strategy, optimize workflows, and drive audience growth across print and digital channels.

Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end editorial workflows from acquisition and development to publication and post-release optimization.
- Manage a team of editors, copy editors, and designers to maintain quality and consistency.
- Collaborate with content strategy, SEO, and marketing to grow audience and engagement across channels.
- Maintain a robust publishing calendar and ensure on-time delivery of all titles and digital assets.
- Develop and enforce style guidelines, QA processes, and rights/permissions workflows.
- Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and budget alignment.
- Optimize metadata, search visibility, and reader experience through data-driven decisions.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years in publishing or editorial roles, with at least 2 years in leadership or management.
- Proven experience with content management systems (WordPress, Drupal, or similar).
- Excellent editing, proofreading, and storytelling abilities with a strong eye for detail.
- Strong project management, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices, metadata optimization, and digital publishing workflows.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
