As a Sales Cashier, you will manage front-end operations with accuracy, provide product information, and support store associates in delivering exceptional service. You will handle cash, credit, and mobile payments, balance till end-of-day, and ensure compliance with cash-handling procedures. You will also assist with merchandising, maintain clean checkout area, and participate in daily inventory checks. Responsibility
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process purchases accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash, card, and mobile payments, provide correct change, and balance the cash drawer at shift end.
- Deliver friendly, proactive customer service; greet customers, answer questions, and assist with product locations.
- Maintain a clean, organized checkout area and assist with in-store merchandising and price tagging.
- Upsell promotions and complementary products to boost sales while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Protect store assets by following cash handling procedures and security policies.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily sales targets and resolve customer concerns promptly.
- Assist with inventory checking, stock replenishment near the sales floor, and opening/closing procedures as required.
Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior cashier or retail experience is preferred.
- Strong numeracy and cash handling accuracy with attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with a friendly, patient demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer literacy; aptitude for learning new software.
- Team player with dependable work ethic and good problem-solving abilities.
