Diamond H Marine Services & Shipping Agency Inc. is seeking a seasoned Second Engineer to join our maritime team in Manila, Philippines. As a Second Engineer, you will assist the Chief Engineer in maintaining propulsion and power systems, supervise engine room watchkeeping, and ensure compliance with international standards and company procedures. You will oversee preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex systems, monitor performance and fuel efficiency, and manage spare parts logistics to minimize downtime. You will mentor junior engineers, maintain accurate engineering logs, and participate in safety and emergency readiness drills.

Responsibility
- Oversee day-to-day engine room operations and watchkeeping as Second Engineer.
- Assist Chief Engineer in planning and implementing preventive maintenance and repairs for propulsion, auxiliary systems, and safety-critical equipment.
- Monitor engine performance, fuel efficiency, lubrication, cooling water, boiler operations, and power generation; implement optimization measures.
- Manage spare parts inventory, procurement, and logistics to minimize downtime and control costs.
- Ensure compliance with ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, and other regulatory requirements; lead safety procedures and drills.
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers, provide training, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate engine room logs, maintenance records, and cost estimates; assist in budgeting.
- Respond to emergencies, troubleshoot faults, and participate in root-cause analysis after incidents.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent naval engineering certification.
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on marine engineering experience on seagoing vessels, preferably container ships.
- Valid STCW endorsement for Engine Room Watchkeeping and Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL and shipboard safety practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting, leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work onboard rotating shifts and travel internationally.
- Proficiency in English; able to communicate effectively with an international crew.
