This role places you at the heart of strategic sourcing, inbound logistics, and supplier collaboration.

In this leadership position, you will own end-to-end supply chain operations for the Penang site—from supplier selection and contract negotiation to inbound logistics, inventory planning, and on-time material delivery. You will implement cost optimization initiatives, manage risk, and continuously improve service levels through data-driven decisions, Lean practices, and cross-functional collaboration with production, quality, and finance teams to align goals and budgets.

You will mentor and develop a capable procurement and logistics team, define KPIs, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Success in this role requires strategic thinking, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to translate business goals into actionable plans that meet production schedules and financial targets while maintaining high ethical and compliance standards.

Responsibility

  • Lead the development and execution of procurement and supply chain strategy to support manufacturing goals.
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, monitor performance, and drive supplier excellence.
  • Oversee procurement, logistics, and inventory planning to ensure on-time, cost-effective supply of materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align demand planning, capacity planning, and production schedules.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing team; set KPIs, provide coaching, and implement career progression plans.
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives, supplier consolidation, and risk management across the supply chain.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements; monitor supplier audits and ESG considerations.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies and data-driven decision making.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, operations management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in supply chain and procurement; leadership experience in manufacturing or FMCG.
  • Proven track record in procurement strategy, vendor management, and cost optimization.
  • Strong analytical skills, proficiency with ERP systems (such as SAP or Oracle), and data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities; fluency in English; Malay language skills are a plus.
  • Experience with Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies and a proven ability to lead change in cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for supplier visits and audits.
