Join the Nova Institute for Advanced Studies as a Senior Academic Research Scientist. Responsibility
- Lead design and execution of independent and collaborative research projects within our interdisciplinary programs, including hypothesis development and experimental planning.
- Plan, collect, manage, and analyze data using appropriate statistical methods and software, ensuring reproducibility and robust conclusions.
- Prepare grant proposals, manage progress reports, and ensure compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
- Mentor and supervise graduate students, postdocs, and junior researchers; provide training in research methods and data analysis tools.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to translate findings into publications, presentations, and policy-relevant outputs.
- Prepare high-quality manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals and contribute to grant reports and institutional briefs.
- Oversee data governance, documentation, and reproducibility initiatives across projects.
Qualification
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Biomedical Sciences, Neuroscience, Biology, Data Science, or related disciplines) or equivalent research experience.
- 5+ years of post-PhD research experience with a strong record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive funding and experience with grant writing.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization using Python, R, MATLAB, or similar tools.
- Strong experimental design skills, advanced analytical reasoning, and experience handling large, complex datasets.
- Excellent scientific communication and presentation skills; experience mentoring students and junior researchers.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment; strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to research ethics, data governance, and regulatory compliance; willingness to travel for collaborations and conferences as needed.
