Summit Valuations is seeking a highly skilled Senior Asset Valuation Analyst to join our NYC team. This role blends financial theory with practical valuation execution, supporting investment decisions for diverse asset classes including equity, debt, intangible assets, and complex portfolio structures. You will partner with asset managers, corporate finance teams, and advisory professionals to deliver rigorous, defendable valuations in a fast-paced environment.
What you will do: analyze asset level cash flows, perform DCF and scenario analyses, build and maintain valuation models, conduct market and asset level research, ensure compliance with IFRS 13, GAAP and valuation standards, prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients and leadership, and contribute to process improvements and QA QC of valuation outputs.
Responsibility
- Lead and conduct comprehensive asset valuations across equities, fixed income, real assets, IP and other intangible assets.
- Develop and maintain robust cash flow models including DCF and scenario analyses with sensitivity testing.
- Perform market comparisons, benchmarking, and scenario analyses to inform fair value determinations.
- Prepare valuation reports, memos, and presentations for clients, auditors, and internal governance with clarity and defendability.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS 13, GAAP, and other valuation standards; document methods and assumptions thoroughly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align valuation with strategy and risk considerations.
- Identify process improvements, automate repetitive tasks, and implement valuation tooling in Excel and Python.
- Mentor junior analysts, review work products, and provide training on valuation methodologies.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; advanced degree or CFA ASA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in asset valuation, financial modeling, or investment banking in professional services or asset management.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with Python or R is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of valuation standards IFRS 13 and ASC 820 and GAAP; ability to translate complex assumptions into transparent reports.
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills; attention to detail and high-quality deliverables.
- Effective written and verbal communication; ability to present complex concepts to non technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments with deadlines; proactive, results oriented, and collaborative.
- Professional certifications such as CFA, ASA, or CAIA are highly regarded.
