Job description

Join a premium automotive innovator in Detroit as a Senior Automotive Electrical Engineer. You will steer the development of vehicle electrical systems, infotainment interfaces, and safety-critical software for next-generation EVs and internal-combustion platforms.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll translate requirements into robust hardware and software solutions, collaborate with hardware, battery, and vehicle integration teams, and drive quality through rigorous testing and safety processes.

Responsibility

  • Lead the design, development, and validation of automotive electrical systems including ECUs, sensors, powertrain controllers, and harness integration.
  • Architect software using AUTOSAR, C/C++, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink; define requirements, interfaces, and verification plans.
  • Perform safety analysis per ISO 26262, determine ASIL levels, and drive the functional safety lifecycle from concept to production.
  • Collaborate with hardware, battery, chassis, and vehicle integration teams to ensure robust system integration and diagnostics.
  • Manage supplier activities, including requirements specification, verification, validation, and component qualification.
  • Lead test automation strategies and instrumentation for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and bench testing; analyze data to improve reliability and performance.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of automotive electronics experience with ECUs, CAN/LIN/FlexRay, and vehicle networking.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++, Python; experience with AUTOSAR and MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Experience with ISO 26262 functional safety processes, ASIL assessment, and safety case development.
  • Hands-on experience with HIL, bench testing, oscilloscope, multimeters, and automotive test equipment.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and project leadership skills; ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Authorized to work in the United States or eligible for work authorization.
