We design and deploy next-generation powertrains, ADAS, and domain controllers for leading OEMs and suppliers. We are seeking a Senior Automotive Embedded Systems Engineer to join our Detroit-based engineering hub and help shape the future of intelligent vehicles.
In this role, you will own embedded software development life cycles, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers. You will work on high-impact projects across series production and prototype development, ensuring safety, performance, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibility
- Lead architecture and development of embedded control software for EV powertrain, thermal management, and ADAS subsystems.
- Define requirements, interfaces, and test strategies with hardware teams and software vendors.
- Develop in C/C++ on RTOS or bare-metal platforms, with AUTOSAR and ISO 26262 safety processes as applicable.
- Implement signal processing, sensor fusion, and real-time control loops; optimize for deterministic performance.
- Perform code reviews, unit/integration testing, and performance profiling; drive quality metrics.
- Collaborate with hardware, systems, and software teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions for production programs.
- Mentor junior engineers, support CFMEA and safety case activities, and contribute to design reviews.
- Participate in customer communications and technical demonstrations for new business opportunities.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of embedded software development experience in the automotive sector; EV/ADAS focus preferred.
- Proficiency in C/C++, real-time operating systems, AUTOSAR, and automotive communication protocols (CAN, CAN FD, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet).
- Hands-on experience with MATLAB/Simulink, model-based design, and code generation workflows.
- Strong understanding of ISO 26262 safety processes and toolchains; experience with safety case development desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, matrix environment.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for automotive embedded systems is a plus.
- Location in Detroit area or willingness to relocate; eligibility to work in the United States.
