Join NovaDrive AutoTech in Detroit as a Senior Automotive Engineer. This role leads the design and validation of powertrain and chassis systems, partnering with Design, Test, and Manufacturing to deliver high-performance and safe vehicles.
You will influence the technical roadmap, own key specifications, and mentor engineers across disciplines in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment focused on premium automotive solutions.
Responsibility
- Lead design, analysis, and validation of powertrain and suspension components from concept through production.
- Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, QA, and suppliers to ensure robust, scalable solutions.
- Perform DFMEA, FMEA, risk assessments; implement mitigations and preventative actions.
- Translate customer and regulatory requirements into clear specifications and test plans.
- Plan and oversee prototype builds, testing campaigns, data analysis, and iterative design improvements.
- Ensure compliance with automotive standards (ISO 26262, ISO 21434) and quality processes.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering; Master's preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on automotive engineering experience in powertrain or chassis systems.
- Proficiency with CAD tools (CATIA, SolidWorks) and simulations.
- Strong knowledge of FMEA/DFMEA, APQP, and quality systems.
- Experience with automotive safety standards (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity awareness (ISO 21434) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project-management skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel up to 15% and to work in a fast-paced environment.
