Job description
Join AutoTech Dynamics, a premier automotive innovator in Detroit, to lead propulsion and electrification initiatives for next‑generation vehicles. This role blends systems engineering, supplier collaboration, and hands‑on validation to accelerate time‑to‑market while ensuring safety and quality.
You will partner with design, powertrain, electrical, and manufacturing teams to shape robust architectures and deliver premium customer experiences.
Responsibility
- Lead system engineering for propulsion, e-powertrain, and high-voltage architectures across vehicle programs.
- Define technical requirements, interfaces, and verification plans; own system-level I/O diagrams and architecture sketches.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, safety, and supplier teams to ensure robust design, producibility, and cost targets.
- Perform DFMEA/FTA, risk analysis, and support APQP/PPAP activities for new programs.
- Plan and execute validation campaigns (bench, component, and vehicle level); analyze data and drive issue resolution.
- Lead supplier engagement, RFQ processes, audits, and change management for critical subsystems.
- Mentor junior engineers, document learnings, and promote continuous improvement using DFX and Six Sigma principles.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 5 years in automotive engineering with EV/hybrid propulsion and/or ADAS features.
- Strong CAD/CAE proficiency (CATIA/SolidWorks); experience with high‑voltage systems (>300V) and battery thermal management.
- Solid understanding of FMEA, DFMEA, APQP, PPAP, and ISO 26262 functional safety processes.
- Excellent communication, project leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- Experience with PLM tools (Teamcenter, Windchill); scripting or Python a plus.
- Willingness to travel to supplier sites and customer locations as needed; US work authorization.
