We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Bioprocess Engineer to join our expanding biotechnology team in Boston, MA. This role focuses on scalable upstream processing, process development, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver clinically relevant products.

Responsibility
- Lead scalable upstream bioprocess development from small-scale to pilot-scale, optimizing culture conditions and feeding strategies.
- Design and execute experiments (DOE), analyze data, and present clear conclusions to cross-functional teams.
- Develop robust purification strategies, troubleshoot processes, and optimize yield and purity.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, QA/QC, and Regulatory teams to ensure smooth tech transfer and GMP compliance.
- Define process control strategies, monitor equipment performance, and ensure calibration/maintenance of bioreactors and ancillary systems.
- Mentor junior scientists and support training and career development within the team.
- Prepare documentation for regulatory submissions and batch records; maintain strict data integrity and traceability.
Qualification
- MS or PhD in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field.
- 5+ years of industry experience in bioprocess development and scale-up for biologics or vaccines.
- Proficiency in upstream/downstream processing, cell culture (mammalian or microbial), and bioreactor operation.
- Hands-on experience with chromatography, filtration, QA/QC, and GMP/compliance requirements.
- Strong statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making; proficiency with Python, R, JMP, or similar tools.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills; demonstrated ability to lead projects and teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to cross-functional teams across locations.
