Innovia Biotech, a leader in next-generation therapeutics, is seeking a Senior Biotech Research Scientist to join our Cambridge, MA campus. This role leads high-impact R&D programs, translating scientific insight into scalable platforms and potential therapies.
In this role you will design robust experiments, oversee integration of multi-omics data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in Biology, Process Development, and Regulatory Affairs. You will contribute to strategy, generate compelling data packages, and mentor a growing team of scientists.
Responsibility
- Lead design, optimization, and execution of experiments in molecular biology, cell biology, and assay development.
- Develop and validate assays, protocols, and SOPs; ensure data integrity and traceability.
- Plan and manage project timelines; prioritize tasks to meet milestones and regulatory standards.
- Analyze complex datasets using statistical tools; interpret results and present findings to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Product, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams to translate research into scalable processes.
- Mentor junior scientists; provide technical training and performance feedback.
- Ensure compliance with biosafety, GLP/GMP, and quality systems; implement risk mitigation.
Qualification
- PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or related field; or MS with 5+ years of industry exposure.
- 5+ years of relevant biotech R&D experience; demonstrated track record of impactful, publishable work.
- Expertise in molecular biology, cell culture, and assay development; experience with CRISPR, sequencing, ELISA, and qPCR.
- Proficiency in data analysis with Python, R, or JMP; strong statistical understanding and data storytelling.
- Experience in GMP/GLP environments; ability to document experiments and generate SOPs and technical reports.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills; ability to present complex data clearly.
- Independent problem-solving skills with a bias for action; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional team.
- Authorized to work in the United States and willing to be based in Cambridge, MA.
