InnovateBio Labs is a leading biotechnology company focused on transformative therapies. We are seeking a Senior Biotech Research Scientist to join our Boston team. This role drives experimental design, execution, data interpretation, and collaboration across R&D and manufacturing to advance innovative cell and gene therapies from concept to early product stages.
In this role you will design and execute rigorous experiments, optimize assays, and contribute to translational science while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibility
- Plan and lead advanced experiments in molecular and cellular biology to support product development.
- Develop, validate, and optimize analytical assays (PCR/qPCR, ELISA, Western blot, cell-based assays).
- Analyze data, generate clear reports, and maintain accurate lab notebooks and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, QA, manufacturing) for technology transfer and process development.
- Oversee GLP/GMP-compliant operations, equipment calibration, and inventory management.
- Mentor and train junior scientists and interns; promote a culture of scientific rigor and safety.
- Stay current with biotechnology trends and contribute to grant writing and project proposals.
Qualification
- PhD in Biotechnology, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field; or MS with 5+ years of industry experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with cell culture, gene editing (CRISPR), and molecular biology techniques.
- Proficiency in ELISA, qPCR, NGS workflows, data analysis (Python, R), and experimental design.
- Familiarity with GLP/GMP guidelines, SOP documentation, and quality systems.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills; proven ability to lead projects.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Publication record or prior regulatory submissions is a plus.
