Job description
NovaGen Biotechnologies is seeking an experienced Senior Biotech Research Scientist to join our expanding R&D team in Boston. The ideal candidate will lead experimental design, oversee protein expression and purification, cell culture, assay development, and data interpretation. You will collaborate cross-functionally to translate basic research into scalable biotech solutions and contribute to patentable technologies.
Responsibility
- Design and execute experiments for protein expression, purification, and characterization.
- Lead cell culture, in vitro assays, and assay development to support translational programs.
- Develop and optimize analytical methods (HPLC, mass spectrometry, ELISA) for product characterization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, QA, Regulatory) to advance projects.
- Interpret data, prepare technical reports, and present findings to leadership.
- Mentor junior scientists and maintain rigorous scientific documentation and SOPs.
- Ensure compliance with GLP/GMP standards and safety protocols.
Qualification
- PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related field; or MS with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- 5+ years in biotech R&D with hands-on protein expression, purification, and cell culture.
- Proven track record in assay development and analytical method development (HPLC, MS, ELISA).
- Proficiency in data analysis using Python, R, or MATLAB; strong statistical and experimental design skills.
- Experience leading projects, mentoring teammates, and writing technical reports and SOPs.
- Familiarity with GLP/GMP environments and scientific compliance.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
