GeneNova Therapeutics is a leading-edge biotechnology company focused on transformative therapies across immuno-oncology and regenerative medicine. We are expanding our R&D presence in Cambridge, MA, and seek a dedicated Senior Biotech Scientist to drive impact across discovery and early development programs.
In this role, you will design and execute experiments, translate complex data into actionable insights, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to move programs from concept to preclinical milestones. You will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and help foster a culture of scientific excellence.
Responsibility
- Design, execute, and optimize molecular biology, cell culture, and assay development experiments.
- Lead troubleshooting and optimization of protocols to improve data quality and reproducibility.
- Develop and validate assays (qPCR, ELISA, Western blot) and characterize biological samples.
- Analyze and interpret data; prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with translational science, bioprocessing, and bioinformatics teams to advance projects.
- Mentor junior scientists and supervise technicians; ensure compliance with safety and GLP/GMP practices.
- Maintain meticulous documentation, manage inventory, and contribute to CAPA and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Present findings at team meetings and contribute to grant and publication-ready manuscripts.
Qualification
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field; or MS with 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
- 4+ years hands-on experience in molecular biology, cell culture, and robust assay development.
- Proficiency with CRISPR-based gene editing, qPCR, ELISA, Western blot, and related analytical techniques.
- Strong data analysis skills using GraphPad Prism, R, Python, or equivalent tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to lead cross-functional projects.
- Experience in GLP/GMP environments and strong documentation practices.
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
- Strong organizational skills and commitment to safety and quality standards.
