NovaGen Biotech is seeking a skilled Senior Biotech Scientist to join our cutting-edge research team in Cambridge, MA. This role offers the opportunity to lead innovative projects at the intersection of molecular biology and biotechnology, shaping therapies of the future.
As a key contributor, you will design experiments, interpret complex data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive translational research from concept to bench scale.
Responsibility
- Lead planning and execution of advanced molecular biology experiments, including sequencing, gene editing, and assay development.
- Design and optimize experimental workflows to improve throughput, reliability, and data quality.
- Mentor and supervise junior scientists and laboratory technicians, fostering a culture of scientific rigor.
- Analyze and interpret large datasets; present findings to stakeholders and contribute to decision-making.
- Collaborate with Protein Science, Genomics, and Regulatory teams to advance projects through development milestones.
- Prepare technical reports, grant proposals, and publications; present results at internal seminars and conferences.
- Ensure compliance with biosafety, GLP, and regulatory guidelines; maintain accurate laboratory records and inventory.
Qualification
- PhD in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or closely related field; or MS with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong expertise in molecular biology techniques (qPCR, next-generation sequencing, CRISPR/Cas9, cloning) and cell culture.
- Proven track record of independent project design, execution, and data-driven decision making.
- Experience with data analysis tools (R, Python, or equivalent) and bioinformatics fundamentals.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to convey complex concepts to non-specialists.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced R&D environment.
- Publication record or patent contribution is a plus.
