Responsibility
- Lead design, execution, and optimization of genomics and protein engineering projects relevant to therapeutic development.
- Develop and validate assays (cell-based and biochemical) to support target validation and lead optimization.
- Plan experiments, manage timelines, and interpret complex data to inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including biology, chemistry, bioinformatics, and clinical operations.
- Mentor and train junior scientists; participate in performance reviews and knowledge sharing.
- Ensure compliance with GLP/GMP, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements as appropriate.
- Present findings to senior leadership and contribute to patenting and publication efforts.
Qualification
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or related field OR MS with 5+ years of hands-on biotech R&D experience.
- 5+ years of experience in genomics, CRISPR-based editing, and protein engineering.
- Proficiency in cell culture, assay development, and high-throughput screening.
- Strong data analysis skills using Python or R; experience with statistical analysis and visualization.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentorship abilities; track record of leading projects.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Authorized to work in the United States; available to relocate to the Boston metro area if needed.
