We are seeking a Senior Chemical Process Engineer to lead process design, optimization, and scale-up for complex petrochemical and specialty chemical projects in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. This role offers a high-impact path through capital projects and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.

You will collaborate with chemistry, operations, and safety teams to deliver robust, safe, and economical solutions from concept through commissioning.

Responsibility

  • Lead the design and optimization of chemical processes using simulations and experimental data.
  • Develop mass and energy balances, process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications (P&IDs).
  • Perform process simulations using Aspen Plus/HYSYS and CFD where applicable to evaluate performance and scale-up.
  • Conduct HAZOP studies, risk assessments, and ensure adherence to process safety standards.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams through front-end loading FEL and detailed design phases, including CAPEX/OPEX estimation.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and coordinate with operations for safe handover to plant.
  • Drive process optimization through data analytics, pilots, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support regulatory compliance and create robust documentation for safety and environmental reporting.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in process engineering within chemical, petrochemical, or specialty chemicals industries.
  • Proficiency with process simulation tools Aspen Plus/HYSYS and data analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of mass and energy balances, reactor design, and separation processes.
  • Experience with HAZOP, PHA, and process safety management; knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Professional Engineer PE licensure or ability to obtain within 12 months is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% as needed for project deployments and site support.
