Join a premier publishing house in the heart of New York as a Senior Editor. You will lead cross-functional editorial projects across print and digital formats, shaping high-impact publishing programs for fiction and non-fiction titles.
As a senior member of the editorial team, you will oversee acquisitions, editorial development, and the end-to-end production process while ensuring timely delivery and the highest quality standards. You will collaborate with authors, designers, marketers, and sales to maximize reach and revenue.

Responsibility
- Lead editorial projects from concept to publication for print and digital formats.
- Oversee acquisitions and editorial development with a strong emphasis on author relationships.
- Manage development editing, copyediting, fact-checking, and metadata optimization.
- Coordinate with design, production, marketing, and sales teams to meet schedules and budgets.
- Develop content strategy and ensure alignment with brand voice and market trends.
- Mentor junior editors and review team performance to foster growth.
- Negotiate rights, contracts, and permissions with authors and agents as needed.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years of editorial experience in publishing, with proven project management skills.
- Strong copyediting, developmental editing, and proofreading abilities.
- Experience with digital publishing, production workflows, and metadata standards (BISAC, ONIX a plus).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strategic thinker with a track record of shaping successful editorial programs.
- Proficiency with relevant tools (MS Office, Google Suite, project management software, and CMS).
