CityPulse Media Group is seeking a Senior Editor in New York City to lead ambitious investigative reporting and high-impact storytelling. You will shape editorial strategy, mentor reporters, and ensure accuracy, fairness, and engaging storytelling across platforms. This is a deadline-driven role for a newsroom veteran who thrives on accountability, data-informed journalism, and collaboration with multimedia teams.
In this role you will oversee editorial planning, assign and edit investigations, manage production calendars, and work with editors, photographers, video producers, and developers to publish compelling narratives. A passion for public interest journalism, strong source development, and adherence to journalistic ethics are essential.

Responsibility
- Lead editorial planning and newsroom operations to ensure timely, accurate coverage across print and digital platforms.
- Coordinate investigative reporting from conception to publication, including source development, document review, and risk assessment.
- Edit, fact-check, and approve copy for style, tone, and accuracy in line with AP style.
- Manage production calendars, assign stories, and monitor progress to meet deadlines.
- Collaborate with multimedia teams (video, audio, graphics) to create compelling, multimedia storytelling.
- Mentor and coach junior reporters, interns, and correspondents; provide regular feedback and growth opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with sources, partners, and community stakeholders.
- Drive data-driven storytelling and SEO optimization to maximize reach and impact.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of newsroom experience with a track record of investigative reporting and breaking news coverage.
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a deep command of AP style and ethical standards.
- Strong source development, verification, and risk assessment abilities.
- Experience managing editors and reporters, with a proven ability to lead teams under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in data journalism, newsroom tools, and multimedia storytelling (video, podcasts, graphics).
- Collaborative mindset with ability to work across departments and externally with partners.
