Our New York bureau is expanding, and we’re seeking a Senior Journalist to lead investigations and generate compelling, accurate stories across platforms.
Role overview: You will report on major issues, lead long-form investigations, and contribute to daily news coverage. You will mentor junior reporters, develop sources, and collaborate with editors, photographers, and data journalists to deliver rigorous reporting that resonates with readers and viewers.

Responsibility
- Lead investigative reporting from concept to publication, shaping narratives that drive public accountability.
- Develop and nurture sources; conduct in-depth interviews with accuracy and empathy.
- Plan and execute multi-platform stories (print, digital, audio, video) with data-backed context.
- Collaborate with editors, photographers, and data journalists to craft rigorous, ethical reporting.
- Oversee fact-checking, source verification, and adherence to AP style and newsroom standards.
- Mentor junior reporters; provide coaching on reporting techniques, safety, and ethics.
- Cover breaking news with speed and precision while maintaining focus on long-term investigations.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of professional reporting with a proven record of investigative work.
- Strong ethical standards, newsroom judgment, and ability to handle sensitive information.
- Proficiency in AP style and newsroom best practices; excellent writing and editing skills.
- Experience with data journalism, including spreadsheets, databases, or basic SQL, and data visualization concepts.
- Excellent storytelling across print, digital, audio, and video; strong interview and listening skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom; collaborative and proactive approach.
- Portfolio of published investigative work required.
