Responsibility
- Acquire, commission, and manage a robust list of fiction and non-fiction titles for trade publication.
- Develop and maintain relationships with literary agents, authors, and industry professionals.
- Lead the editorial process from manuscript evaluation to publication, ensuring high-quality standards.
- Collaborate with design, marketing, and sales teams to position titles for maximum impact.
- Contribute to long-term publishing strategy and market analysis.
- Mentor junior editors and provide constructive feedback.
- Participate in author events, industry panels, and literary conferences.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and reader preferences within the publishing ecosystem.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Publishing, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ professional editorial experience in trade book publishing.
- Proven track record acquiring and developing successful titles.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and project management skills.
- Strong industry contacts and ability to identify promising talent.
- Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Passionate about diverse voices and innovative storytelling.
