Job description

Lumina Fashion House is seeking a Senior Fashion Designer to join our NYC studio. You will lead concept development and drive collections from sketch to final sample in a high-velocity, luxury-inspired environment. Responsibility

  • Lead design concept development for seasonal collections across womenswear and accessories.
  • Translate market trends into compelling product briefs, color stories, and technical specs.
  • Collaborate with technical design, product development, and manufacturing to ensure fit, construction, and quality.
  • Own the design calendar, mood boards, tech packs, and line-review presentations to stakeholders.
  • Partner with sourcing and suppliers to select fabrics, trims, and finishes that meet price and performance targets.
  • Present final designs to senior leadership and cross-functional teams, incorporating feedback with agility.
  • Mentor junior designers and interns, fostering a culture of innovation and craftsmanship.
  • Review and approve prototype samples, ensuring collections align with brand vision and season goals.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • 5-7+ years of professional fashion design experience, preferably in luxury or contemporary brands.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating concept development, fabrication knowledge, and storytelling across categories.
  • Proficiency in CAD (Illustrator, Photoshop) and a solid understanding of patternmaking and garment construction.
  • Excellent sketching, presentation, and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Deep knowledge of fabrics, trims, production processes, and a track record of delivering on tight deadlines.
  • Experience leading design teams or mentoring junior designers is a plus.
  • Trend forecasting acumen and ability to translate insights into viable product strategies.
