Evergreen Harvest Foods is seeking a Senior Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager to lead our quality systems across our Portland manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will drive regulatory compliance, implement robust QA programs, and partner with operations, R&D, and supply chain to deliver safe, high-quality products to consumers.
This role combines policy, people leadership, and hands-on QA to safeguard brand integrity and consumer trust.
Responsibility
- Develop, implement, and maintain QA policies, HACCP plans, and GMP programs across all production lines.
- Lead internal and external audits (FDA, USDA, SQF/BRC) and coordinate corrective actions.
- Oversee supplier qualification, incoming materials testing, and change control processes.
- Drive product quality improvements through data analysis, CAPA investigations, and root-cause analysis.
- Lead cross-functional teams (Production, R&D, Supply Chain) to resolve quality issues and launches.
- Maintain and improve documentation systems, recall procedures, and traceability.
- Develop training programs to educate staff on food safety, quality standards, and SOPs.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 5 years in food safety/quality assurance within packaged foods or ingredients.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SQF/BRC/ISO 22000, and regulatory requirements (FDA/USDA).
- Proven experience leading audits and CAPA processes; excellent documentation skills.
- Data-driven decision maker with proficiency in QA analytics and root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Willingness to work on-site in Portland, OR, with occasional travel for supplier visits and audits.
