Job description

Aurora Foods Global is seeking a Senior Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager to lead our quality program across the manufacturing network. You will design, implement, and continually improve our quality systems to ensure safety, compliance, and exceptional product quality.

As a senior leader in QA, you will collaborate with R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, and Compliance to safeguard our ingredients and finished products from farm to fork, meeting customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

Responsibility

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with GMP, HACCP, FSMA, and ISO 22000 where applicable.
  • Oversee all quality and food safety testing, specification creation, validation, and release of materials and finished products.
  • Manage supplier qualification, ongoing supplier audits, and CAPA processes to ensure ingredient and packaging integrity.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and verification activities.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits (customers, regulators, certifications) and maintain readiness for inspections.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Operations on new product development and changes to meet safety and quality standards.
  • Track and report key quality metrics, drive data-driven continuous improvement across sites, and mentor QA team members.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in food safety and quality assurance within manufacturing or a large-scale food facility.
  • Strong knowledge of FSMA, HACCP, GMP, FDA/USDA regulations; experience with certifications (e.g., SQF, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000) is a plus.
  • Experience with supplier quality management, QC testing, microbiology labs, and CAPA systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making abilities.
  • Proven leadership and cross-functional collaboration across R&D, Operations, and Supply Chain.
  • Strong communication skills, project management, and ability to lead audits and multi-site teams.
  • Professional certifications such as CQA or lead auditor are desirable.
