Job description

NovaTech Manufacturing is seeking a results-driven Senior Industrial Engineer to lead process optimization initiatives across our production floors. You will apply Lean, Six Sigma, and advanced analytics to reduce waste, improve throughput, and enhance product quality. This role collaborates with operations, maintenance, supply chain, and quality teams to design scalable, data-driven solutions.

In this role, you will partner with manufacturing leadership to diagnose bottlenecks, develop evidence-based improvements, and deliver measurable ROI while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibility

  • Lead cross-functional process improvement projects from scoping to implementation, delivering measurable productivity gains.
  • Conduct time and method studies, line balancing, and capacity analysis to optimize workflows.
  • Design and optimize plant layouts, workstations, and material handling to reduce waste and travel distance.
  • Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen initiatives; drive DMAIC projects with data-driven metrics.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure repeatable performance.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, maintenance, quality, and supply chain to ensure successful deployment of changes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on problem solving and project execution.
  • Monitor project KPIs, prepare dashboards, and report ROI and benefits to leadership.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing/industrial engineering.
  • Proficiency with Lean, Six Sigma (Black Belt or higher preferred); DMAIC, value stream mapping.
  • Strong data analytics skills: Excel (advanced), Minitab/JMP, SQL; experience with ERP/MES systems.
  • Experience with facility planning, line setup, and layout optimization.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project management abilities.
  • Ability to travel up to 10-15% as needed; problem-solving mindset.
  • CAD/CAM experience and familiarity with automation integration is a plus.
