NovaForge Innovations is seeking a Senior Intellectual Property Counsel to lead the company's global IP strategy, focusing on patents, trademarks, licenses, and IP risk management. This role blends hands-on patent work with strategic leadership in a fast-growing technology company.
You will collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to protect innovations, manage external counsel, and shape freedom-to-operate analyses that enable product launches and partnerships.

Responsibility
- Develop and implement the global IP strategy, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
- Oversee patent prosecution, office actions, and portfolio management across all jurisdictions.
- Lead IP due diligence for M&A, partnerships, and licensing transactions.
- Draft, negotiate, and administer IP licenses, collaboration agreements, and confidentiality agreements.
- Provide strategic guidance on freedom-to-operate, product clearance, and design-ahead analyses.
- Coordinate with external IP counsel, monitor budgets, and measure performance.
- Educate cross-functional teams on IP best practices and risk mitigation.
Qualification
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; California bar admission preferred; USPTO patent bar required or eligible.
- Minimum 6 years of IP experience in technology, software, or related sectors.
- Proven track record in patent prosecution and patent portfolio management across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong knowledge of trademark, copyright, and IP licensing; familiarity with open source matters.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills; proven cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience managing external counsel and IP budgets; ability to lead in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a business-focused approach.
