We are seeking a Senior Intellectual Property Counsel to manage and grow a global IP portfolio, lead complex patent prosecution, and shape licensing and enforcement strategies.
In this role you will partner with product, engineering, and business teams to translate innovative work into robust IP protection and strategic competitive advantage. You will oversee global trademark, copyright, and patent activities, supervise outside counsel, and drive processes that align with business goals.
Responsibility
- Manage and lead all patent prosecution from drafting to issuance for complex technologies.
- Develop and execute global IP strategy including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to identify and mitigate IP risk.
- Oversee IP due diligence for transactions, licensing, and partnerships.
- Manage relationships with outside counsel; budget and optimize IP spend.
- Lead enforcement and licensing efforts; coordinate with enforcement teams.
- Mentor junior IP attorneys and paralegals.
Qualification
- J.D. from an ABA accredited law school; admitted to practice in relevant jurisdictions.
- 6+ years of experience in intellectual property practice, with patent prosecution background in tech fields (software, semiconductors, AI).
- USPTO registration or equivalent.
- Deep knowledge of patent prosecution, patent strategy, and IP litigation support.
- Experience with licensing, IP transactions, and due diligence.
- Excellent communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams; ability to influence at senior levels.
- Strong analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills; client service oriented and principled.
