We are seeking a Senior Intellectual Property Counsel to lead patent strategy, manage portfolios, and guide licensing and enforcement efforts for cutting-edge software, hardware, and biotech clients.
As a key member of our IP team, you will collaborate with product, engineering, and business development teams to align IP strategy with company goals, oversee patent prosecutions, monitor freedom-to-operate analyses, and advise on IP-related transactions.

Responsibility
- Develop and execute comprehensive IP strategies for software, hardware, and biotech clients across multiple industries.
- Lead patent prosecution lifecycle from invention disclosure through office actions and amendments, ensuring robust protection.
- Manage trademark portfolios, including clearance, registration, and enforcement strategies.
- Provide strategic guidance on IP licensing, collaboration agreements, and technology transfers.
- Conduct freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses and monitor competitive IP landscapes.
- Mentor and supervise junior associates; coordinate effectively with outside counsel and cross-functional teams.
- Advise on IP risk assessment in product launches, M&A, partnerships, and strategic negotiations.
- Represent clients in IP-related negotiations and contribute to business development efforts.
Qualification
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school; admitted to the New York Bar; USPTO registration preferred.
- 8+ years of sophisticated IP law experience, including patent prosecution, trademark work, and IP transactions for technology-driven clients.
- Proven track record managing large patent portfolios and delivering clear, actionable IP strategy.
- Strong drafting and analytical skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical counsel.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and negotiation abilities; experience coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience supervising junior attorneys and managing relationships with outside counsel.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage competing priorities.
