Join NexaTech Innovations as a Senior Intellectual Property Counsel where you will shape the IP strategy for our technology portfolio. You will own the patent, trademark, and licensing roadmap for multiple product lines, steering risk management and value capture in a fast paced, globally minded tech company.
This is a hands-on, strategic role designed for a practical, collaborative lawyer who thrives in cross functional teams including product, engineering, finance, and business development. You will balance protecting innovative assets with accelerating product development and partnerships.
Responsibility
- Lead and execute the IP strategy for patents, trademarks, and licensing across all product lines.
- Oversee patent portfolio management, including drafting, filing, office actions, and coordination with external counsel.
- Assess freedom to operate, perform regular IP landscape analyses, and advise on competitive risk.
- Draft, negotiate, and finalize licenses, collaborations, and technology transfer agreements.
- Implement processes to identify, report, and mitigate IP risk in product development cycles.
- Manage trademark clearance, prosecution, enforcement, and domestic and international brand protection.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate IP strategy into actionable roadmaps.
Qualification
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active bar admission in California or eligibility for admission.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in intellectual property, with emphasis on patent prosecution and licensing in the tech sector.
- Deep knowledge of US patent law, patent prosecution processes, and international IP practices.
- Proven ability to work with engineering teams, translate complex technical concepts into legal strategies, and manage external counsel.
- Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills with a track record of closing complex deals.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with a disciplined approach to IP risk management.
