Join a fast‑growing technology company as a Senior Intellectual Property Counsel. You will shape our IP strategy across software, AI, hardware, and platform initiatives, partnering with product, engineering and business teams to protect and monetize our innovations while carefully managing risk.
As a key member of the legal team, you will work cross functionally to align IP objectives with business goals, build durable protection for our innovations, and lead negotiations that drive value for the company.
Responsibility
- Provide strategic IP counsel to product, engineering and business teams across software, AI, hardware, and cloud platforms.
- Draft, file and manage patent applications worldwide, focusing on software, AI, and platform innovations.
- Oversee trademark strategy, clearance, and brand protection for the company and its products.
- Lead IP portfolio management including mining, maintenance, and monetization strategies.
- Negotiate and draft licensing, collaboration, and technology transfer agreements with partners and customers.
- Coordinate with outside counsel on litigation, inter partes review, and enforcement actions as needed.
- Conduct IP due diligence for M&A, strategic partnerships, and funding rounds; advise on risk and value.
Qualification
- Juris Doctor from an ABA‑accredited law school and license to practice in California.
- Minimum 6–10 years of relevant IP experience in technology sectors including software, AI, and hardware.
- Proven track record in patent prosecution before USPTO and international offices; strong patent drafting skills.
- Experience with trademark clearance, portfolio management and brand protection.
- Experience negotiating and drafting licensing and technology transfer agreements.
- Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration abilities; ability to simplify complex IP concepts for non‑lawyers.
- Strong analytical, negotiation and strategic thinking skills with business acumen.
