We are seeking a motivated Senior Land Surveyor to lead projects, mentor team members, and help shape our growing geospatial practice.
As a Senior Land Surveyor, you will oversee field crews, manage project scope, schedule, and budget, ensure QA/QC standards, and collaborate with engineers, architects, and clients to deliver accurate results on time. Responsibility
- Lead, supervise, and mentor field surveying crews on boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction staking projects.
- Plan field operations, manage resource allocation, safety, and QA/QC to ensure accurate data collection.
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, and project managers; prepare progress reports and deliverables.
- Process field data using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson, and Trimble software; produce plats, maps, and exhibits.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and change orders; ensure compliance with local codes and standards.
- Lead at-geometry and legal description reviews; provide accurate boundary analysis and tie sheets.
- Maintain and verify control networks, data integrity, and metadata for long-term project validity.
- Mentor junior staff, provide technical training, and contribute to business development activities.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Licensed Professional Surveyor (WA) or ability to obtain licensure is preferred.
- 5+ years of professional surveying experience, including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction staking.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Total Station, GNSS/GPS, and field data collection software.
- Strong understanding of legal descriptions, surveying mathematics, and relevant standards (ASCE, NCEES, NSPS).
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and client-management skills; proven ability to lead projects and teams.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on QA/QC, data integrity, and safety compliance on field sites.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites and client locations as needed.
