We are seeking a Senior Legal Consultant to lead complex contract reviews, risk assessment, and strategic guidance across industries including fintech, healthcare, and tech. This role blends deep legal expertise with practical business insights to help clients navigate evolving laws and win critical negotiations.
In a NYC-based, flexible-location role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and directly advise C-suite and in-house counsel. You’ll also mentor junior associates and contribute to business development through thought leadership and client outreach.
Responsibility
- Lead complex contract review, drafting, and negotiation for high-stakes commercial agreements.
- Perform regulatory and risk assessments, including privacy and data security considerations.
- Advise clients on compliance programs, controls, and governance frameworks.
- Conduct due diligence for M&A and financing transactions and provide post-closing integration support.
- Develop scalable templates, playbooks, and training materials for clients.
- Manage matters end-to-end, including budgeting, timelines, and stakeholder communication.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior attorneys and analysts.
Qualification
- 7+ years of experience in corporate/commercial law, regulatory compliance, or equivalent.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and admission to the NY bar (or eligibility).
- Proven track record with cross-border transactions and complex negotiations.
- Strong knowledge of privacy laws (e.g., GDPR and CCPA) and other regulatory regimes.
- Excellent communication, advisory, and client-management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple engagements.
- Leadership experience or mentoring responsibility preferred.
