Responsibility
- Provide strategic legal counsel on contract design, negotiation, and risk allocation for diverse clients.
- Lead regulatory and compliance reviews, including privacy, anti-corruption, and data security programs.
- Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements, with attention to commercial and legal clarity.
- Conduct in-depth legal research and due diligence to support matters across jurisdictions.
- Advise senior leadership on risk assessment, litigation readiness, and dispute avoidance strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, operations, risk, and audit) to implement compliant processes.
- Prepare client-ready memos, policy templates, and training materials to enable ongoing compliance.
Qualification
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; active bar admission in New York or eligibility to waive with reciprocity.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in legal consulting, corporate law, or regulatory compliance.
- Proven track record negotiating high-stakes commercial agreements and advising executive teams.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state regulations; experience with GDPR/UK GDPR is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills; ability to translate complex concepts for non-legal stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and deliver high-quality work under pressure.
- Proficiency in legal research tools, contract management systems, and MS Office; fluency in English; additional languages a plus.
