GlobalLingo Solutions is seeking a Senior Localization Specialist to join our fast-growing translation team in New York. You will lead complex localization projects across industries, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and culturally aware translations.
This role blends linguistic excellence with program management, collaborating with global teams to deliver timely, accurate content that resonates with diverse audiences.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end localization projects from kickoff to delivery across multiple languages and platforms.
- Collaborate with linguists, engineers, product and marketing teams to define scope, timelines, and quality metrics.
- Manage translation memory (TM) and terminology databases; maintain glossaries and style guides in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to brand voice, style guides, and regulatory or industry-specific requirements.
- Oversee QA processes including linguistic checks, functional testing, and client feedback integration.
- Build and mentor a team of translators and reviewers; coordinate resource planning and capacity management.
- Identify process improvements, drive automation, and optimize workflows for efficiency and scalability.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Translation, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of localization experience with a track record delivering multilingual projects at scale.
- Proficiency with CAT tools (Trados Studio, MemoQ, or XTM) and terminology management systems.
- Strong English language proficiency with exceptional editing and linguistic quality judgment; additional languages a plus.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and client-facing communication skills.
- Experience across multiple domains (tech, software, life sciences, marketing) is a plus.
- Familiarity with QA processes, TM maintenance, and style guide creation.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment; remote/hybrid flexibility.
