We’re seeking a Senior Translator (EN → ES) to join our growing team in Toronto. This role offers a blend of on-site collaboration and flexible remote work for the right candidate.
As a Senior Translator, you will produce accurate, culturally appropriate translations, maintain terminology standards, and help mentor junior translators. Responsibility
- Translate high-quality content from English to Spanish across technical, legal, marketing, and product materials while preserving tone and intent.
- Collaborate with project managers to clarify requirements and timelines; provide accurate time estimates.
- Maintain and enrich glossaries and style guides; ensure terminology consistency across projects.
- Review and edit translations for accuracy, fluency, and cultural appropriateness; perform QA checks.
- Leverage CAT tools (SDL Trados Studio, MemoQ) and translation memories to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Coach and support junior translators; share best practices and quality feedback.
- Deliver projects on schedule, communicating risks and blockers proactively.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a closely related field.
- Native-level Spanish proficiency with professional-level English skills (C1+).
- 5+ years of professional translation experience, with demonstrated work in technology, legal, or marketing domains.
- Proficiency with CAT tools (SDL Trados Studio, MemoQ) and terminology management systems.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities; strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; experience working with cross-functional teams and clients.
