Join Northstar Precision Manufacturing, a leader in high-precision components for automotive and industrial sectors. We are seeking a results-driven Senior Manufacturing Engineer to drive continuous improvement, reduce waste, and optimize production throughput.
In this role you will collaborate cross-functionally to design, implement, and sustain manufacturing processes that meet safety, quality, and cost targets.
What you will do includes leading process analysis, supporting new product introductions, and mentoring junior engineers to build a culture of excellence.
Responsibility
- Lead process optimization initiatives to improve yield, cycle time, and overall OEE on multiple production lines.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving methodologies to identify and eliminate root causes of defects.
- Design and validate manufacturing processes, fixtures, and work instructions for new products.
- Collaborate with quality, supply chain, and maintenance to ensure robust process control and TPM.
- Lead data-driven decision making using MES/ERP data to monitor performance and drive improvements.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians; contribute to training and best practices.
- Support EHS compliance and ensure safe, standardized operating procedures across shifts.
- Lead continuous improvement projects with clear business cases and measurable ROI.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering; Master's preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience in high-volume environments.
- Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, and problem-solving tools (DMAIC, 8D).
- Experience with PLCs, robotics, automation, and CAD/CAM tools; familiarity with MES/ERP systems.
- Data-driven mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Minitab, Tableau) and process capability studies.
- Excellent communication, cross-functional collaboration, and project leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive cost reductions and quality improvements while maintaining safety standards.
