In this role, you will own and optimize end-to-end manufacturing processes, lead key efficiency initiatives, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery across multiple assemblies. You will leverage data-driven methodologies to reduce waste, improve yield, and drive CAPEX projects from concept through implementation.
Responsibility
- Lead design and optimization of production processes on assigned lines, including layout, takt time, and line balancing.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and DOE methodologies to drive continuous improvement and waste reduction (target 15%+ annual efficiency gain).
- Develop and maintain process FMEAs, control plans, PFMEA, and metrics to monitor process capability (Cp/Cpk) and quality performance.
- Manage equipment and tooling upgrades, CAPEX projects, and new line integrations from planning to validation.
- Collaborate with QA, Maintenance, Logistics, and suppliers to implement root-cause analysis and corrective actions (8D, 5 Why).
- Standardize work, train operators, and mentor junior engineers to build a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO 9001, and customer-specific quality requirements; drive safety improvements on the shop floor.
- Utilize MES/ERP data to monitor performance, generate reports, and communicate findings to leadership and cross-functional teams.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience in high-volume production environments (preferably automotive or precision components).
- Strong proficiency with Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher), DOE, FMEA, SPC, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience with CAD (SolidWorks or similar) and familiarity with automation controls/ PLC programming is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Data-driven mindset with proficiency in analytics and manufacturing metrics; working knowledge of MES/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) highly preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to safety and quality.
